Today, our Choir went to sing for the ladies at Waddington Hospital. They sang them 12 lovely songs and it was enjoyed by all. Thank you to the children for singing so beautifully!
EYFS update…
The staff have worked so hard on this. Creating areas of provision in our pre-school room that excite and inspire our pupils. It makes me want to play in it!
On their walk and talk this week, Reception visited Charlotte's farm land.
They identified Winter trees by the leaves they had shed, talked about why the sheep had so many colours on them, spotted bird boxes, mole hills, Holly and St. Helena Church too!
Reception and Preschool have been learning about melting and freezing. Today, they made some frozen paint and used it to paint with. Preschool also made a beautiful ice window with leaves frozen into it.
Thank you to the Friends of Waddington Primary School for organising a wonderful Christmas Fair for the children last week – it was a HUGE success and the children and families really enjoyed it!
Year 1 have produced some excellent writing today based on their theme ‘Fire! Fire!’
They have been focussing on words ending in -ed.
How amazing is their writing!
We are all learners in our school!
We always talk to the children about learning being life-long and tonight was an example. Most of the staff from WWB and our link school, Brennand's Endowed Primary School, Slaidburn, stayed to have an update to their phonics training; using the time to learn about new strategies and lots of fun games we can use to help the children across school
Thank you so much to the wonderful author, Sophie Stewart, for coming to our school today! We loved your book so much

Year 6 got to play shop today!
As part of their maths work, they’ve been learning about finding percentages. Today the staff set up a shop in the hall where the children could ‘buy’ things but they had to work out the discounts! Lots of fun and maths discussion.
Reception have had a lovely visit from Paint Pot this morning! Mrs Neave read them the story of Stick Man and all the children then got to paint some pottery!
Thank you so much and we can’t to see them once they’ve been in the kiln.
Year 1 and 2 had a visit from some firefighters and got to see how the fire engine works today. They even got to climb inside and try on some of the kit!
They were so interested and we saw lots of ‘wow’ moments going on. One little girl even asked why I kept saying Firemen when women can be fight fighters too!
