Learning to Tie Knots!
Year 1 have been learning to tie knots - figure of 8 knots!
They also enjoyed a sweet treat under the tarpaulin in the rain...(don't tell anyone but Mrs Burcher is amazing at baking!)
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.

After a busy season, we have harvested our first batch of honey!
However, due to it being so small with it being our first try, we are unable to offer it on general sale.
We have about 20 jars and have decided to sell them via a BLIND AUCTION.
The jars will normally be priced at £6 but this time we are accepting blind bids (hopefully higher than £6...).
Bids can 'bee' made through submitting a form and placing it in the red letter box in the entrance way at school.
Happy bidding!
Year 6 recently enjoyed a day at Outdoor Elements where they got to take part in lots of adventure activities.
They had lots of fun and, as always, were a pleasure to take on a school trip!
Our Reception pupils are doing so well with their bikeability sessions. The cycling teacher has been so impressed with their listening skills and enthusiasm. Well done everyone!
Today, Class 5 visited Tropical World to learn about the tropical rainforest and compare it to our native woodland.
First, we visited Tropical World and spotted lots of interesting plants and animals some from the rainforest and others from the desert. The cute and inquisitive meerkats were a favourite!
After lunch we had a lesson in the native woodland in Roundhay Park. We identified the trees in the area using their leaves and talked about the biodiversity in our native woodland compared to that in a tropical rainforest. We also measured the height of an oak tree in the native woodland of Roundhay Park using a triangle method. We learnt about how trees in the rainforest can grow much taller and have larger waxy leaves with drip tips. One of the children dressed up as a rainforest animal and we talked about the animal's adaptations. Can you guess which animal she is impersonating?
A huge congratulations to the Year 3 and 4 football team!
On Thursday they took part in the Schools Sport Partnership Football Tournament at Roefield and WON!
They didn’t let a goal in!
Well done to these two pupils who are our new WELL-BEING WARRIORS!
They went with Mrs Hartley to complete the training on Wednesday and we look forward to hearing their plans about how we can improve the well-being of our pupils and involve other pupils in doing this
Last night our Cross Country Team represented our school in a competition.
Out of 30 teams, our girls came 4th and the boys came 5th!
Layla finished 2nd out of over 100 competitors.
The school came 4th overall.
Well done everyone - that's absolutely brilliant!
It’s been a busy day of building in EYFS today!
Today, Year 4 spent the day with the Ribble Rivers Trust.
This morning they walked part way up the fell to Waddington Brook and learnt about the invertebrates that live in it.
This afternoon, we learnt about the features of rivers, different techniques for preventing erosion, and how we can look after rivers with the choices we make.
Thank you to everyone who came along to our Macmillan Coffee Morning today.
We had a lovely time with you and raised a fabulous £274 to send to Macmillan.
Thank you to everyone who came to join us
Congratulations to these Year 6 pupils for being chosen as our Rainbow Team Captains for this year
