PE and Science

Year 5 took part in the Move and Learn Project organised by Accrington Stanley Community Trust. With Coach Josh, they learnt how to measure their pulse rate; how physical activity can effect the body and mind; about the eat well guide; how to plan a balanced meal and the importance of staying hydrated. The children had lots of fun and learnt some really important life skills about staying active and looking after yourself.

HISTORY

This hald term the children have learnt about what happened on the Titanic and life on board. Here are some photos of our re-enactment.

This half term we learnt about cam mechanisms and designed and made our own Moving Toys. 

PE - PLAYLEADER TRAINING

This half term Year 5 took part in their Play Leader training through the Schools Sports Partnership. They learnt about what it takes to be a good leader and role model. They also learnt how to organise, manage and play games with younger children; how to adapt the games to make them easier or harder and of course how to make them fun!! The children will put theory into practice in the summer term, with year 1 and year 2! 

RSPB BIRDWATCH

In the last week of this this half term we took part in the RSPB Schools BIrdwatch. We spent an hour outside in our school grounds in a variety of locations with our eyes peeled! We really enjoyed spending this time outside, very relaxing! Our top 4 birds spotted - wood pigeons, house sparrows, crows and blue tits!
